Description
Volume I
The Irish Exchequer records held in the Public Record Office, London, are an important but under-used source of history for medieval Ireland. The issue rolls and enrolled accounts calendared here provide a record of Dublin governmental expenditure between 1270-1446 and throw light on many aspects of government activity during that period. The information which they contain will be of use not only to political, military and administrative historians, but also to researchers in the fields of local history, settlement studies, archaeology and historical geography. See Volume 2:, Irish Exchequer Payments 1326-1446, Volume II.
