Description | Document relating to the estate of Michael Hunt, County Sligo. 'Mr Patrick Mc Goldrick, District Councillor of Drimbane, Curry, Co. Sligo, states that Michael Hunt, who held a small farm and house at Drimbane, was committed to Sligo Lunatic Asylum about 30 years ago; that about 4 years ago his daughter illegally sold the farm for £80 which she squandered and is frequently an inmate of the Tubbercurry Workhouse; and he suggests that the farm should now be sold by public auction and the sum realized placed to the credit of the Asylum Authorities to recoup them for the maintenance of the lunatic during his 30 years confinement.' Miss Hunt is described by Mc Goldrick as 'weak-minded'. |
