Envelope 15 includes among other documents: Letters to J O'Donovan Rossa from his wife, Mary Jane (Moll), these letters are initialled M.H. For example, 21 December 1866, Monday night 'I'm going to bed but will make me sleep better to write a little note to you before lying down. And that reminded me of the first time I met you. At the wake you remember? Well the morning after the night you left Julia Keshane or rather Mrs Smyth remarked when I sprang out of bed (where I had thrown myself dressed) to answer somebody's call - 'Miss Irwin dreaming . fancied herself in the arms of Jer Donovan don't disturb her... What business have you paying any amount of attention to any young ladies when you find yourself at safe distance from your little wife's wrath.'

Envelope 11 includes: Four letters from his wife to O'Donovan Rossa, 1865, they tell of her lack of information on her husband's whereabouts, the letter of 3 July 1865 discusses her grief at her lack of a child, 'Mamma was awfully disappointed at the prospect of spending this year without a grandchild & Papa felt it even more I believe. Indeed their disappointment makes me feel as if I did them a wrong by not bring them a little grandchild. I'll bring them you're your youngest & he'll do as well perhaps.' Letter from M.J.
