Description | Series of letters George Boole (1815-1864) to his sister Maryanne Boole, 1847-1857, discussing his life and working conditions in Cork. Discusses also finances of Maryanne and their mother during this period and Maryanne's employment prospects, 137 letters. Also similar letters to his mother, 1849 to 1853, 15 letters. Some material, letters, relating to their children, Mary Ellen Hinton, including diary of her residence in Japan 1888-1891, Alicia Boole Stott, well known mathematician, Ethel Lilian Boole Voynich (author of 'The Gadfly') nineteenth and early twentieth century. |
