Case Books:
These case books contain notes on patients admitted to the hospital. The information given is similar to that found in the Registers of Admissions but the case books also include reports of interviews with or notes regarding the mental health of patients at regular intervals. The covering dates given below relate to the dates of admission of patients to the hospital, a particular patients case file may contain information for several years afterwards. From the 1930s these books are in a bound case sheet format.

Day Report Books:
These report books, also known as Head Attendants or Head Nurses Day report books, contain lists of staff on duty, lists of patients on medication and details of same, number of patients in the male or female side of the hospital, numbers admitted, discharged or died, notes regarding the behaviour of particular patients, the number and names of epileptic patients and the number of fits suffered, notes regarding the employment of patients, details of the numbers of patients on particular diets, the names of patients in restraint or seclusion, the nature, cause and duration of restraint etc.
