Description | Nine letters written by Fanny Kelly from Kilmainham Jail and the North Dublin Union, 1923. Letters are written in pencil and one in ink. She has used every space to write as much as she could. Includes information on her own background, and on hungerstrikers, 'We still have two hunger strikers, Miss MacSwiney and Mrs O'C. This is their nineteenth day and indeed they are very low (April 29), I was sure we would be let home for the Election but I can understand now why the thousands were kept in prison and on the run. The ballot box has told all', (September 4 1923). |
