| Description | Established in 1889 with the purchase of the former ‘Cork Flax Spinning and Weaving Company’ mills premises at Blackpool, Cork city. The company was in operation until at least c.1927, and by 1920 employed roughly 1,000 people. Sunbeam Wolsey later took over the mills, and the manufacture of textiles continued on the site until 1995. |
