| Description | Material relating to the Sacred Congregation of Religious, includes: Letter, dated 9 September, 1943, of Mother M Agnes, St Clare's Convent, Newry, addressed to His Eminence Cardinal MacRory - 'The Mother-General of the Dominicans gave us a copy of their Constitutions and they have been permitted to retain the title of Mother Prioress in all their Convents having over 12 members in Community. In smaller houses the local Superior is called the Mother Vicar. This information may be of use to Your Eminence, both Orders being similar in many respects'. |
