Material relating to the Diocese of Kilmore:

Letter, 15 September 1944, of the Most Reverend Patrick Lyons, Bishop of Kilmore, addressed to His Eminence Cardinal MacRory - 'Your kind letter has followed me here where I am to preach on Sunday. Our Mother Abbess showed me a copy of the decree of Amalgamation before I left on Wednesday. Of course I shall give all the help I can to implement it duly. The title seems funny and a request for it was in the Petition I signed, as far as I remember'.
'I am sorry you were troubled by Kilmore visitors. I was anxious to save you any trouble of the sort. I have safeguarded my position all through with the help of the sound canonists and have let the Nuncio know about'.
