Letters of Cardinal Logue addressed to Most Reverend W.J. Walsh, Archbishop of Dublin, as copied by Reverend Dr Toner, includes:

20 March 1894, Ara Coeli, re. Diocesan and metropolitan arms on tomb of Pius IX in Rome, relating to the post of Superintendent at Intermedical Exams, for Miss Daly, Drogheda relating to the Omagh trial of Montague case. Priests won. `The charge of Judge Andrews to the jury was beautiful. One would think he had spent part of his life in the administration of a Diocese'.
