Description | Undated, letter of Most Reverend Dr Dorrian, Coadjutor of Bishop of Down and Connor, addressed to Most Reverend Dr Dixon, relating to Dr Denvir and the schools. Request of a Reverend Mother to hold a Profession Ceremony in public, so that some funds could be raised to help defray the expenses of the Convent. 'I desired her to write to Dr Denvir. And this brought him over. "What did these nuns want; how did I think but he would not object to them? This Convent must go down. Wiser people than I have told me not to mind them"'. |
