| Description | Envelope marked 'Carrothers' correspondence' containing letters relating mainly to botany, c1920s-c1960s. This collection includes, for example: Letters from Irene Andrews, Chicago to Norman Carrothers, regarding book plates, her forthcoming publication and her hopes to produce a book on Irish ExLibris, 1927-1930. A book of letters written to Norman Carrothers by Mrs Mary Louisa Wedgewood, referring to plant specimens and her visits to Belfast and Dublin, 1923-1940. This book also contains an obituary of Mary Louisa Wedgewood (1854-1954), which notes that she devoted her life to the completion of a herbarium for British plants at Marlborough College, 1954. A scrapbook on the botanist, Augustine Henry (1857-1930), compiled by Norman Carrothers which includes several letters from Elsie R Patton, Bangor, County Down to Norman Carrothers, seeking information on Augustine Henry, 1963-1966. |
