Born Elizabeth Dorothea Cole in Dublin in 1899, she took her literary name from her family home Bowen’s
Court, in County Cork.
Bowen died in London in 1973 and is buried in Cork. This item was acquired by Mr. Crónán O Doibhlin,
Head of Research Collections, UCC Library, in December 2006.

Details arrangements for contacting her. Refers to arrangements for a dinner and agrees it is an excellent idea that [Curtis Books] and Catherine [D.B.] should be invited to come to the party “after I speak”. Refers to “Monsoon Quarter”.
