'Our Country':

A non fiction film. A short election campaign film for Clann na Poblachta which highlights the problems of Ireland in the 1940s and calls for public effect to resolve the communal difficulties. Three members of Clann na Poblachta speak to camera about the unhappy condition of modern Ireland. Their narration is interspersed with footage of dole queues, barefooted children, dirty tenements and, in contrast to these, windows stocked with imported luxury consumer goods. The narrators state that public affairs are the concern of all and stress the dangers of public indifference. More information on paper record.
