Description | 1796.05/83/1862 Letter from Revd T. Murphy, Youghal, to Bishop W. Keane, relating to licence money. 'Strange to say that in this Parish there has not been a single person married, who is connected with land even as much as one acre'. The same is true of Killeagh parish. 'This is the surest proof of the depressed state of the farmers'. A young girl, monitress in the Convent school has been referred by the Inspector, to sanction her being sent to a Model School, probably Waterford. He told her he would consult the Bishop. He also discusses other matters, for example, political issues, 10 March 1862. |
