1796.05/298/1864 Letter from Revd. J Cullinan, Macroom, to Bishop W Keane. `May I beg to be informed' of any communication the Bishops may have got regarding the matter detailed below. Rumour has it that Mrs O'Neill went to Dublin with her first cousin, and was married to him there. There are several impediments of affinity involved. He ignored the rumour for some time. He went to the woman's father who told him they had been married by the authority of the Archbishop. He doesn't believe this and thinks they were probably married by the Registrar. He would also like to know if the Bishop intends to communicate with Dr Cullen on the matter, if he has not already heard from the Archbishop about it, 18 December 1864.
