| Description | The collection includes material relating to personal matters, including obituary on Bridget Edwards, mother of Robert Dudley Edwards, who died 27 October 1956 [LA22/31] and testimonials for Dudley Edwards from Mary Hayden and Agnes O'Farrelly [LA22/71, 83-84] The collection contains a great volume of material relating to Robert Dudley Edward's professional career, to student and particularly history of student activities within University College Dublin, to the study of Irish history, to Irish education and to publications, projects, organisations and societies in which he was involved. The correspondence (1931-1973) included in the collection [LA22/716-920] mainly deals with academic research and appointments, publications and meetings. Correspondents include Maire Condon, Nuala Costello, Mary Cullen, Sr Mary Emery, Margaret Dickson Falley, Olive Goodbody, Kathleen Hughes, Mary Frear Keeler, Sheila G Kennedy, Miriam Lee, Peig McCarthy, Sr Benventura MacCurtain, Nuala Moran, Helen Mulvey, May O'Friel, Carmel O'Leary, Jocelyn Otway-Ruthven, Lynn Parson, Marguerite Schneider, Maureen Wall, Mildred Ware, Cecil Woodham-Smith; also a file containing Dudley Edward's correspondence with nuns.
