1792.05/7/1822 Letter from M. Collins to the Secretary of Dublin Committee seeking aid. Details the situation in Skibereen and vicinity. Local landlords, by and large, not much help. Does not think it a good idea to make Public Works indispensable condition for relief and explains why. Better work would be cleaning and whitewashing of habitations of poor 'with a view to obviating and restraining the progress of contagious disease', 13 June 1822.
