Description | File of extracts from the Minute Books of Ballymoney Board of Guardians, copied from the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland, 1844-1850. The minutes include, for example, an entry which records the master's list of offences and punishments, 'Eliza Taylor for giving general annoyance to the inmates and using improper language...to be sent to the petty sessions', 26 April 1848; 'The master reported he had given the girls in class No. 4 yesterday no dinner on account of their wilfully destroying the vetches grown in a border round the yard. Punishment approved of', 21 July 1849; 'Mr. Baxter[,] relieving officer reported he had taken Rachel Erwine prisoner for deserting her children. ...Ordered that Rachel Erwine be prosecuted for deserting her children', 2 February 1850. |
