This collection contains the papers of Donnchadh O Briain, Fianna Fáil TD for West Limerick 1933-1969. The sections on constituency matters, and on the Irish language movement contain material relating to women, for example, an application by Miss Bridie McDonough, Newcastlewest, for a pension: a pamphlet, 'The case of Mrs Kate Dunleavy - shameful treatment of an Irish teacher' (1934); and correspondence from the Irish Nurse's Organisation on amendments to 1956 Health Act. Also letters from Leslie Bean de Barra, Ann O'Brien and Mary O'Neill on Terence McSwiney, Sr M. Killan Casey and Mrs Mary McAuliffe, Rev Sr Mary of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, letters of condolence to O Briain on the death of his mother, letters from Sr Mary Joseph and Mother Margaret Mary Flanagan, South Africa, Rita Childers, Kathleen O'Malley and Jean Di Mangi, USA.
