DescriptionThe Island and Coast Society was founded in 1833 for the education of children and promotion of scriptural truth in remote parts of the coast and adjacent islands of Ireland. Dissolved in 1968.

Includes committee minute books, 1920-1968 including details of schools, teachers, numbers of pupils and other schools in vicinity, management of property; subscription book, 1928-1930; register of donors, subscribers, helpers and receivers of donated clothing, 1964-1967; letters and papers 1922-1945; printed material including 'A Memorial Sketch of the Life and Labours of Mrs Henrietta Pendleton' (Dublin, 1875) and Kingsmill Moore [secretary] 'An Island School' (reprint from 'Church of Ireland Gazette'), also annual reports and appeal leaflet. 6 volumes and 1 box of material.
