Collection | Papers of Judge John O'Hagan (1822-1890) |
Reference | N4/ |
Description | 31 Letter to Mrs O'Hagan from ? Micks, former Assistant Secretary [in the Land Commission] thanking her for sending him some books 'as a memento of Judge O'Hagan'. "His name is never mentioned without affection and veneration, and his memory is in the hearts of many. You must often hear him spoken of in this way, but not too often I am sure, for the one whose grief is greatest is at times tempted to feel, as I know, that the love of those who were only friends is seldom strong beyond the grave. 'The Judge' as we all call him, is an exception, for many think and speak lovingly of him,' 22 October 1891. |
