Description | Belfast Ophthalmic and Benn Hospital Management Committee Minutes: 1960-1962 Bound, typed minute book listing those present at meetings, including women and covering topics such as finance, staff salaries, accommodation for nursing staff and matron's reports. For example, a matron's report noted 'that the present arrangements whereby female patients had to go into the male wards to view [television] was undesirable. ...Matron expressed satisfaction with her revised nursing establishment and felt that the present shortage of State enrolled assistant nurses might become less acute. She was not in favour of ward orderlies being employed on night duty', 13 September 1960. In another report matron noted ' that her nursing establishment was up to full strength and that the forty four hour week was being strictly complied with', 14 November 1961. |
