Petition to Parliament, 1876, 'nevertheless your Petitioners find it impossible to anticipate the terms upon which it might be expedient to admit women to the legal practice of surgery and medicine in the United Kingdom'
Address to the Duke of Marlborough, 1877, 'so far back as 1844 this College established a chair of State Medicine, the first of the kind in these Kingdoms, which to the present day diffuses amongst the public sound sanitary knowledge'.
