Description | Contains affidavit addressed to the Rt. Rev. Brethren 'of the Ministries of the Cittie of Glasgoe [or whom it may concern]' from the minister to Sir John Brown's Regiment, testifying to the reading of the banns of marriage between Captain William Murray and Mrs Anne Forbes/Forbesse, daughter to Winquhill [Anketill ?] Sir Arthure Forbesse of Castle-Forbesse in Ireland, knight. 27 April, 1646. Murray was 'Rut' [route] master to the Scots army. Note from Katharine Forbes to her brother desiring him to send her 'Lord Longfoord's bond' that she may pass it on to be executed in Dublin. Examinations of witnesses to the shooting of Colonel Murray, taken 25 July, 1689 (the seizure of all Protestants' horses and arms said to be ordered by Colonel Sarsfield and the murder to be 'forgiven by the Conditions of Limerick'). Includes the examination of Elizabeth Feris, servant to Garratt Dillon 'till a few days after the break of boyn' when he took her to Connacht until after Easter. From here, 'getting opportunity' she returned to Longford and, despite threats and promises, made her deposition. |
