Description

Born in India in 1911, of a Robertstown, County Kildare family. Educated at a Church of Ireland school in London and at Marlborough College. Socialist and educationalist, member of the Dun Laoghaire Vocational Educational Committee, 1949, to his retirement in 1979. Papers including information on staff, courses, fees of Blackrock and Dun Laoghaire Technical Institutes, minutes of committee, correspondence, interviews and appointments, 1949-1974.
Also Irish maritime historian, Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament supporter, anti-European Economic Community campaigner (letter from Andrée Sheehy-Skeffington expressing reservations to the Common Market Defence committee: 'If it is intended to use the EEC entry as a springboard for a new war of independence, I opt out'. 1972 (C/12)), humanist, and journalist.

Also material relating to the Unitarian Church, St Stephen's Green, 1950-1964, 1959-1970 of which he was a member.
