DescriptionCase of infanticide 1945. Usual depositions. Many women who committed infanticide refused to name the putative fathers. Some claimed not to know who the fathers were. In this particular case the woman, later deemed to be of ‘sub-normal in intelligence’ stated she had no idea who the father of her child was remarking‘ it was a stranger I met coming out of the bog’.
