A film that portrays life on Achill Island. The islanders are said to experience a different reality. Fishermen hunt sharks from small boats with nets. A potter John Coolohon, discusses his art, with scenes of young women working in his pottery,-moulding clay. A teacher explains the weather to a class of school boys and traditional music is played in the pub. Notes supplied by John Mac Namara - the school teacher in the film when he viewed the film in the Archive on August 21, 1997.
