Description | A small collection of 26 items relating to the Fitzwilliam family. Includes 5 letters (P3/3-7) to Nesbitt and Stewart (bankers), Aldermanbury, London, from Charlotte Watson-Wentworth, Lady Rockingham, sister-in-law of William Fitzwilliam, 3rd Earl Fitzwilliam. Lady Rockingham acted as trustee of the marriage settlement of her sister, Harriet Sturgeon, and the letters (1775-1790) relate to the administration of the marriage settlement and other financial matters, for example: P3/5 requests payment of £75 to the account of her nephew, Thomas William Sturgeon, as part of his £200 annuity, 2 January 1787 P3/6 details arrangements to be made for the distribution of £140 from William Wentworth Fitzwilliam, 4th Earl Fitzwilliam, as part of the marriage settlement allowance of Harriet Sturgeon, 16 December 1789. |
