Description

'It's Handy When People Don't Die':

Production Company: Kinship

Director/Producer: Tommy McArdle

Set in an Irish village in 1797, the film depicts the effect on the inhabitants of events resulting from the unsettled political situation in the country at that time. These events include the murder of the village cobbler by British yeomen, the departure of the men to fight. The main focus of the film is on the effects of those left behind in the village - the women, the children and such men who are too old or infirm to fight.
