Description

Proceedings of monthly meetings of the Deansgrange Burial Committee Joint Burial from 1899 charged with the administration, maintenance and upkeep of the fifty acre plus cemetery. Records attendance, resolutions, correspondence, examination of acounts, approval of estimates, adoption of the registrar's reports, revision of charges, discussions as to the expansion of the burial grounds acquistion and consecration of land, allotment of 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th class grave spaces, submission of headstone drawings for approval, authorisation of repairs and purchases, appointment and remuneration of personnel, wage negotiations and staff discipline. Weekly burial returns are included to December 1886. Minutes to March 1933, T.S. thereafter. Indexed.

3 27 March 1914-20 November 1925, includes report from the register stating that a number of victims of the Rising were received from the military authorities and buried uncoffined, 12 May 1916. Also refusal of the Board to consent to the exhumation and reinternment of one of the victims, Christopher O'Flaherty, 'as the remains were interred with other bodies, all victims of the recent rebellion and without coffins, exposure of the remains would be dangerous to the public health', 18 July 1916
