Description'On a Paving Stone Mounted':

Production Company: BFI Production Company

Producer: Mary Pat Lee

A film exploring Irish emigrants' experiences. Contrasted (and confused for the emigrant) are his/her memories of Ireland, depicted by documentary footage of events such as Puck Fair and the pilgrimages to Croagh Patrick. Once in London the emigrant creates these situations as reminders of their Irishness but also selectively recall and recreate back home memories that are not part on any reality in Ireland. This is represented by a returned emigrant feeling apart from fellow Dubliners.
