| Description | Registrar's Office Collection, for example: Box 2 comprises of letters to the Registrar and relies to same, 1909-1912, for example: Letter to Professor Moholan from Teresa M O'Riordan requesting a reference for a post as assistant mistress in a Cork secondary or high school. She was a student in University College, Cork, 1910-1911, and attended his latin lectures for second and third year courses, 14 April 1914 Letter from Miss N O Mullane on Drishane Convent headed paper requesting information about the BA exams and discussing the subjects she intends to present for, no date, reply is dated 1 May 1914. Boxes 3- 5comprise of applications for academic posts, some typescript, mostly printed and include a number of applications from women, for example: In Irish and English, printed application, Lucy Duggan, MA, PhD, H Dip in Education, for the professorship of Education, University College, Cork, May 1949. Box 6 comprises of correspondence relating to staff appointments: 1944-1946 1946-1950 1952-1953 1950-1952 These include material on female academic staff, teaching assistants and female clerks. Box 7 contains miscellaneous correspondence to the registrar relating to entrance to the college, scholarships and academic progress. |
