Return of Outrages, 1877-1882:
Printed return of outrages reported to the Constabulary Office for each year. Also includes details of homicides specially reported from 1877-1882.

Examples:
Catherine Spillane, shoemaker's wife, died from the effects of internal haermorrhage caused by injuries inflicted by her husband, Cornelius Spillane, at about two o'clock am. An altercation having arisen between them, he first struck her on the face and then knocked her down. She died in two hours after the assault. The offender was tried at the Summer Assizes, 1878, and sentenced to one week's imprisonment, the Judge having considered that when he threw her down he had no intention of causing her death, also taking into account the period of imprisonment which he had undergone awaiting trial, viz. over fourteen weeks, 21 April 1878.
