Fragile soft-bound book with inscription 'The Following description and observations are written in the model school, Kildare Place, Dublin, by Elizabeth Crowther between the 9 March and the 14 day of July 1838'.

Volume contains Elizabeth Crowther's plan for teaching children in a school. Contains a synopsis of her plan with lessons to be given in reading and writing, arithmetic and needlework. A small amount of geography was also to be taught to the students. Book also contains observations on an accepted mode of behaviour for children when reading aloud or spelling. Book is formulaic, plan and rules outlined appear to be applicable to all teachers when they arrive at a new school and establish their classes, 1838, 1 volume.
