This is an unsorted collection and some of the material is closed to researchers. The material is made up of three boxes which contain correspondence dating from c.1847-1975, photographs, documents relating to land holding, a large number of memory cards, and a some business cards. There are many letters written by women or which refer to female family members. Some of the letters are numbered.

28 December 1878,

My Dear Mama,
It occurred to me after posting my last letter that you may go to some unnecessary trouble about the hamper mentioned. Now I must explain that I simply meant some dried fruit and confectionery which all the children which remain for vacation generally receive from home and share with each other I remain as ever, Your fond child, Maria'.

Letter 74:

'21 August 1910
My dearest Maria
I was delighted indeed to get your letter[.] I shall of course be only too glad to take Mrs Cunningham. She is what I have been anxious to get for years, as I detest young chips(?) She will have no milking or washing. I require her for plain cooking, ironing and general housework and fowl. I keep a second girl and water, turf, etc. is left in. I hope she is a fairly early riser. Sat 7 o'c at latest - punctual as regards meals - She will at present have no churning in butter making but whenever we have it to do she will be required doing it of course if she does not understand it I shall teach her. If she is quite satisfactory I shall give her a 'rise' in her wages to £12 next year - - let her send on discharges please - but I am really glad about her - -
