Records of the National Women's Meeting. Introduction to the volume, containing an outline of codes of behaviour for women friends regarding marriage, the behaviour of widows and their treatment by other friends, the well being of the children of widows who wish to remarry, etc., it was intended that this introduction be read at every meeting. Volume also contains a series of religious lectures by G F, male friend, which he gave to the women's meeting, dates from the time of the Restoration.
Volume also contains a series of communications between the Yearly Meetings of friends from the three Provinces: Ulster, Munster and Leinster, containing religious treatise and codes of behaviour. Examples of the type a information recorded:

12 September 1677 Statement from the National Men's Meeting at Dublin to the Provincial and Particular women's meeting throughout the 'nation of Ireland', entreating women friends to 'inspect into the condition of widows and young woman how they dispose of themselves as to their manner of living and whether any of them and live out of ? (of the younger sort) and live by themselves which may give an occasion of liberty and looseness and do those things which may bring great dishonour to the blessed truth'. 'And also you are ? to look into and consider whether there be amongst you any women who profess truth that take upon them the office of midwife nurse or nurse keeper and have occasion to be employed by the world whether they keep truth ? and keep up their testimonies for the lord in faithfulness and whether any such be present at their sprinkling of children and at their gossips and ? their offering money which at such times is usually given '

16 February 1726 Quarterly Women's meeting for Leinster to the Yearly Women's Meeting at Dublin. 'And Dear Friends, we hope we may safely say there is a remnant in all or most meeting, zealously concerned for the prosperity of friends in the Truth that those things which dim the Beauty of Sion, may be removed and put away'.

29 February 1727 Epistle from the Provenance Meeting held at Lurgan to the National Women's Meeting to be held at Dublin. 'Friends are advised to speak truth and keep to the plain language, plainness in apparel and from the hurtful conversation of the World. As to that of Extravagancy, superfluity of plate and other house furniture, we think there is not much cause of complaint among us'.

12 May 1757 'Rules agreed upon by the National Men's Meeting held in Dublin for the Direction of Women's Meetings in the Conducting of Business. In order to prevent clandestine marriages, when they hear of or suspect any of their sex, to keep company with those that are not of our profession, or even with those that are, without consent of parents or guardians, that they speedily enquire into the truth thereof, and precaution such: and where they find the parents, masters or guardians have not kept their places as they ought, let the men friends be acquainted therewith that they may join in proper care, that truth and its testimony be kept blameless'.

The responses of the women friends to the queries from the National Men's Meeting at Dublin are quite similar. The minutes from each meeting are signed by two or three women friends an behalf of all those present. In some instances all present signed the record.
