Volume contains epistles sent to all the Women's Meeting throughout Ireland entreating the Women Friends to continue to live in the truth and requests that certain habits of the Women Friends be discontinued. Examples includes:
February 1724 'We earnestly desire that you would endeavour to have the following things amended for they are a very great burden to the honest hearted and a scandal to all our profession viz. Dressing the head so loose that the ears and throat are to be seen, and the handkerchiefs so wide and loose that the neck is almost bare, short coifs with a double plait at the top and many needless plaits at the ears, setting out cloaths behind and making petticoats to stick out so wide that it is a great imitation of Hoops, and white shoes and white aprons except course are still a trouble to friends-Also making children's' coats so wide in the breast and low before'.
