Description | Emigrant letter from Mary Blair, Georgia, United States to her aunt, Mrs Jane Allen, Belfast concerning family affairs, local women spinning and weaving, the fact that she did not have a black servant and noting, 'you will think it strange when I inform you that I have not been to Church in four years[,] I mean a Presbyterian Church[.] I take my family and go occasionally to the Baptist and Methodist[,] the latter is the most prevailing sect of Christians, we have got no Unitarians in this part of the Country', 25 September 1847. |
