| Description | Women's Meeting Minutes of the Leinster Quarterly Meetings. Volume 1 1769-1792 The first volume of the Proceedings of the Leinster Quarterly Meetings contains epistles from Dublin Yearly Meetings and the minutes of the meetings. The epistles contain accounts of visits of friends from women Monthly Meetings and description of the state of each church. The minutes are not very detailed. At the Quarterly Meetings, the answers to the queries are read, comment is made on the attendance at the meetings of the women from each of the communities, younger women friends are encouraged in their discipline, behaviour, etc., accounts are read from the Quaker communities from abroad and references are made to visits from Men's Quarterly Meetings, providing advise on parenthood, etc. Volume 2 1798-1819 The second volume of the Proceedings of the Leinster Quarterly meetings is similar to the first volume but also contains lists of representatives from each community, the answers to the queries are referred to, though they are not recorded. Certificates liberating friends from religious duty are issued by the Men's Meeting, allowing men friends to visit the Quarterly Meeting. Deputations from the Men's Quarterly Meeting are received to consider 'important matters'. Epistles, mainly from Dublin and London Yearly Meetings, are read and is some cases transcribed into the minutes. This volume of minutes are not very detailed and have the appearance of rough minutes. |
