| Description | Women's Meeting Minutes of the Leinster Quarterly Meeting, Edenderry, County Wicklow, in two volumes, 1809-1829 and 1821-1828 in box file. Volume 1 1809-1829 The Minutes of the Proceedings of the Leinster Quarterly Meetings are formulaic, they contain little detail, but make reference to the epistles read to the meeting, to the deputations from the Men's Meetings, the minutes issued from the Men's Meeting to the Women's Meeting, lists of representatives from the province in attendance, certificates received from Monthly Meetings liberating friends to visit the Quarterly Meeting and the appointment of a deputation from the Men's Meeting to visit the Monthly Meeting throughout the province. In the final section of the volume the minutes are more detailed. Some of the epistles are transcribed and the answers to the queries are recorded. Volume 2 1821-1828 The second volume is more detailed. It contains lists of representatives from the province in attendance, certificates received from Monthly Meetings liberating friends to visit the quarterly meeting, answers to the queries are transcribed and a selection chosen to forward to the Yearly Meetings and deputations minutes received from the Men's Meeting. Epistles which are received from the Yearly minutes in Dublin, London, etc., are transcribed and read to the meeting. Also transcribed are the letters received from the Quaker communities abroad and in particular from North America. |
