| Description | Women's Meeting Minutes and epistles, 1829-1846. Volume is divided between the epistles received from abroad and the Minutes of the Leinster Quarterly Meetings. Minutes of the Leinster Quarterly Meeting contains the names of the representatives from each community, references are made to the answers to the queries from the Monthly Meetings, and the selection chosen to be forwarded to the Yearly Meeting and visits from friends liberated to attend the Quarterly Meeting. The minutes are not complete for the years 1829 to 1846. The full text of the epistles are transcribed in the volume, they are formulaic, advising the women friends on their dress, discipline, duties towards their children, servants and the poor, providing spiritual guidance and reporting on the condition of the church in each of the communities. The epistles transcribed were from Dublin, London, New York, Philadelphia, Ohio, Indiana, North Carolina, New England and Virginia, 1 volume. |
