| Description | Women's Meeting Minutes and Epistles from America, 1841-1850. Transcript of formulaic epistles from North Carolina, Ohio, Philadelphia, New York, Indiana, New England, Dublin and London. Epistles contain reports on the condition of the Quaker communities in each district, entreaties to women friends to stay faithful to the Lord, etc. At the back of the volume are the Minutes of the Leinster Quarterly Meeting, 1841 to 1850, though there are some gaps. Minutes are not detailed. They contain lists of representatives from Moate, Mountmellick, Edenderry, Carlow, Dublin and Wexford attending each meeting, communications from other Quarterly Meeting, answers to queries, though these are not always transcribed, references to the epistles received, reports on the visits by Men and Women friends to the Monthly Meetings throughout the province and visits from friends to the Quarterly Meetings, 1 volume. |
