| Description | Women's Meeting: Minutes of Munster Quarterly Women's Meeting, 1726-1762. One box containing a bag of loose pages of the Minutes of the Munster Quarterly Meeting. The minutes are generally in good condition, though they contain some gaps and are quite brief. Each meeting opens with a spiritual plea that the women friends keep in the 'Truth'. References are made to the epistles read to the meetings, visits made by friends liberated to attend the Quarterly Meetings, accounts of the attendance at Monthly Meetings in the province and answers to queries from the Monthly Meetings. The minutes contain expressions of concern that some women friends are not fulfilling their duties fully, in particular mothers and mistresses of families are repeatedly reminded to be 'careful to example, instruct and advise their children and servants'. The Quarterly Meetings were held in Cork, Limerick and County Tipperary, 1 box. |
