D/2137/1/14B-16C 5 letters from Mary Simpson to John Martin following his deportation to Australia in 1849. For example, in a letter she notes, 'There was a long article about you in the Freeman...of course abusing the Government but what use', 16 June 1849.

D/2137/1/38-40 3 letters from Marie M. Thomson to John Martin, referring to elections and the fact that Mitchell was still a prisoner, 1866.

D/2137/1/47-48 2 letters from Eva O'Doherty to John Martin, stating that she had started writing again as her health had improved and referring to family affairs and that her family were considering emigration, no date.
