FIN/19/8/3 Letter from Lord Craigavon, Prime Minister of Northern Ireland, to H M Pollock, Northern Ireland Minister of Finance. The letter discusses the proposed purchase of a picture for the new Parliament Buildings at Stormont, alleged to depict William III receiving the blessing of the Pope before the battle of the Boyne. Mrs (later Dame) Dehra Parker, Member of the Parliament of Northern Ireland, had suggested the purchase and offered to bid at auction on behalf of the Northern Ireland Government. Lord Craigavon writes...'I have the utmost confidence in her judgement. She is perfectly marvellous at picking up bargains of the kind', 1929.
