Description | Schools and Education: QMII/H1 Minutes for the Committee of the Munster Provincial School at Newtown, 1796-1824. Minutes contain information on the children attending the school, finances, staff, reports made by Superintending Committees, appointment of management committee, etc., 1 volume. QMII/H4 A Schedule of Documents belonging to the Trustees of the Suir Island Charitable School, dated 11 October 1910. Schedule comprises of the deeds (1740-1889), sent to Barclay Clibborn, Cork, 1 volume. QMII/H5 Munster Provincial School Account Book, 1796-1883 (Newtown). List of subscriptions donated by Friends, details amounts, date of donations, etc., 1 volume. QMII/H6 Munster Provincial School Committee Book, (Newtown). Extracts from the Meetings of the Committee for Munster Provincial School, 3 volumes. Volume 1 details the foundation of the school, committee members present at each meeting, staff children attending the school, and in some instances makes particular references to the concerns of women friends. 'The women Friends are desired to examine into the girls improvement together with any other matters they may think necessary and report to a future sitting'. Back of the volume contains a list of women friends, 1796-1807. Volume 2 is concerned with the appointment of new Committee members, male and female, annual subscriptions, children admitted to the school, reports from the Superintending Committees, etc., 1807-1823. Volume 3 contains a printed list of regulations respecting the admission of children to the school. Remainder of the volume contains similar information as the previous two volumes, 1824-1848. |
