Description | 1 volume of Isaac Butler's journal, 1744. This journal is an itinerary of Butler's journey through Counties Dublin, Meath and Louth and contains numerous gravestone inscriptions, including some for women. Butler also mentions some local residents, for example, he describes a man in Carlingford in the following terms, 'George Cumin a Robust Strong Man Married a second wife in the 98 year of his Age, had two children at one birth, by this last wife, lived to be 101 years'. |
