Description | This collection of c47 documents includes the following: Copies of 3 letters from David Pollock, Chambersburg, to his sister, Ann McClorg, 1787-1790 and no date. The first letter states, for example, 'If I thought it was to your advantage to come here would I not have encouraged all my friends before this time, when I was here alone without relations though I believe not without friends', 22 October 1787. The second letter is written from Greensburg and states, 'I suppose a long absence has nearly buried the relation between us; I have got no letters from any of you this two years', 8 December, 1790. Copies of 2 letters from Joseph and Mary McClorg to David McClorg, Newtownlimavady, referring to family matters and their life, 28 August 1822 and 24 August 1824. Copy of a letter from Ann Forrest, Philadelphia, United States, to Alexander McClorg, referring to family affairs, 1 March 1832. Copies of 4 letters from William and Ann Forrest, Philadelphia, to David McClorg, giving family news and reports of friends, 16 November 1832; 1 August 1833; 17 September 1835 and 17 October 1837. Copy of a letter from William McClorg, Philadelphia, to Ann McClorg, Templemore, 17 October 1837. Copy of a letter from Ann Forrest, Philadelphia, to David McClorg, in which she states, 'I have sent often for brothers John and William to come but I do not expect them until the work is over', 17 October 1837.
