Copies of 5 letters from Henry Joy McCracken to his sisters, Margaret and Mary written whist he was in Kilmainham Jail and referring to the Irish political situation, 1 January 1797; 29 January 1797; 15 March 1797; 29 April 1797 and 27 June 1797.

Copies of 2 letters to Henry Joy McCracken from Mary McCracken, 1797. In the first letter she refers to the emancipation of women and notes: 'I am greatly curious to visit some female societies in this town though I would prefer them promiscuous and ungenerous to keep women thus in the dark', 16 March 1797. In the second letter, she notes: 'The cause of Union of Ireland and truth will prevail', 26 March 1797
